Born in 1953 and raised in Corning, New York, Mr. Welch comes from a long line of respected attorneys. His father, Vincent J. Welch, and uncle, Jacob G. Welch, began practicing law in Corning shortly after World War II. For over half a century, the Welch name has been synonymous with trusted legal service and strong community ties.
Since entering practice in 1980, Mr. Welch has dedicated his entire career to trial advocacy, focusing primarily on personal injury law. Known for his consistent excellence in the courtroom, he earned a respected peer rating of “High to Very High” from Martindale-Hubbell, a widely recognized authority on attorney ratings and ethics.
Over the years, Mr. Welch has built lasting relationships based on trust and professional respect—not only with clients, but also with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel. A lifelong athlete, he returned to the sport of hurdles—his passion from high school and college—and earned Gold Medals at the NYS Empire Games in 2004, 2005, and 2006. In 2007, he went on to win gold at the State Games of America, a national competition.
Mr. Welch approaches life with a “work hard, play hard” mindset. He is a devoted father and family man, deeply involved in his community, charitable organizations, and local outdoor sports like hunting and fishing. He values personal connections and is always ready with a good story or a warm laugh.
